QVED Highlights Day Three

To finalise the review of the QVED conference in Munich last February, here are the highlights from its third and final day.

A long day with two heavyweights of editorial design lined up early in the morning: Roger Black, art director that has worked in almost every major magazine in the US, and Steven Heller which has written almost every single editorial design book in the last two decades… also joined by John D Berry, former editor and publisher of U&LC (Upper & Lowercase) the ITC typographical publication that has almost reached the status of ‘legendary’, and lived from 1974 to 1999  (if you never got the chance to hold one of its issues in your hands, at least you can now download pdfs here).

QVED 2015 Highlights Day one

This edition of QVED (Quo Vadis Editorial Design), which is becoming the most important editorial design conference in Europe, had an impressive line-up. First of the speakers to open fire was dutch designer Jaap Biemans, aka Coverjunkie. His website is one of the most visited sources of inspiration, and he took the opportunity to show some of his favourite covers and some of his personal work. You can watch Jaap’s talk (in English) here.
