Jesús Vicente earned a BA (Hons) in Journalism at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. He then further his studies at the London College of Printing. The natural path was then to make a career in editorial design, where his passion from editorial content and design collide.
During his publishing days he worked for a wide variety of titles, from newspapers (El Mundo, Spain), to B2B publications (Emap Business International), customer publishing (Redwood, River Publishing) or consumer titles (Malaysia Tatler, UNO), with also venturing into digital publishing (ABS CBN, Philippines).
In addition to his editorial design career, he started working for UN agencies from 2011. Since then, he has been focusing into visual identity and branding, envisaging identities for multiple campaigns and initiatives, and leading a re-branding exercise from an entire UN agency.
Jesús Vicente is also responsible for the UN designers and Visual Communicators group, with regular meetings where trends in data visualization, infographics, branding and visual storytelling are discussed. He also creates the monthly newsletter of the group, sent to more than 400 visual communicators from international organizations in the UN and humanitarian sector all over the world.
